Cricket enthusiasts, mark your calendars! Cricket South Africa (CSA) has unveiled the highly anticipated home international schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 season, promising an action-packed summer of thrilling matches and intense rivalries.
The Proteas are gearing up for an exciting lineup, including two Tests against Sri Lanka and a showdown against Pakistan across all formats. Meanwhile, the Proteas Women’s team is set to host England in a series spanning all formats, igniting anticipation among fans nationwide.
Kicking off the summer cricket extravaganza, South Africa A will clash with Sri Lanka A in a series of gripping encounters, featuring three 50-over matches from August 31 to September 4, followed by two four-day matches from September 8 to 18.
The main event begins with the Proteas locking horns with Sri Lanka in a riveting Test series. The iconic Kingsmead Stadium in Durban will host the first Test from November 27 to December 1, followed by the second Test at St George’s Park in Gqeberha from December 5 to 9.
Simultaneously, the Proteas Women’s team will face off against England, commencing with a thrilling three-match T20I series from November 24 to 30. The battle intensifies with a three-match ODI series scheduled from December 4 to 11, featuring the eagerly awaited Black Day at Kingsmead on December 8. The highlight of the women’s cricket calendar will be the historic four-day Test match at Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein from December 15.
As the excitement reaches fever pitch, the Proteas’ T20I and ODI squads will take on Pakistan in a series of high-stakes encounters. The T20Is will unfold from December 10 to 14, followed by the ODI series from December 17 to 22, with the iconic Pink Day slated for December 22 at the Wanderers in Johannesburg.
Wrapping up the season with a flourish, the Proteas will engage in a gripping two-match Test series against Pakistan. The action-packed series begins with the Boxing Day Test at Centurion from December 26 to 30, followed by the New Year’s Test at Newlands in Cape Town from January 3 to 7.
