It was not to be for the Mumbai Indians, as they narrowly fell to the Gujarat Titans. For fans of South African cricket, however, there was a lot to like about the match, as first Gerald Coetzee took 2/27 in his four overs, and then Dewald Brevis anchored the Indians’ chase with a mature 38-ball 46. Two shots in particular stood out, as Brevis first hit a no-look six over long-off against Rashid Khan. He then followed this up with an uppercut over point off the bowling of Spencer Johnson. It was not to be for Brevis, as he narrowly missed his the first IPL fifty of his career, and The Indians fell six runs short of their target. Which is sad and all, but for South African cricket fans, this was (hopefully) a taste of what is to come.
