Jordan Hermann went into Newlands yesterday and put together one of the best innings of his young career, as he put a bowling attack littered with superstars, and internationals – both Kagiso Rabada and Sam Curran have gone for over a million dollars in IPL auctions – to the sword. It was an innings of real genius from a cricketer who has been hailed as one to watch by no less a cricketing mind than AB de Villiers.
If one of the goals of the SA20 is indeed discovering new, young talent, then this piece of genius by the 22-year old Hermann has to be placed as one of the discoveries of the tournament.
